Advanced options
Reveal the dashboard tools used for server integrations and credential management.
Advanced options keep integration tools out of the way until you need them. They are a personal dashboard preference: turning them on affects only the signed-in account and does not change your server's behavior or other members' dashboards.
Show advanced options
- Open the user menu in the dashboard and select Settings.
- Under Advanced options, turn on Show Advanced Options.
- Select a server. Its navigation now includes API Keys and Secrets.
Turn the preference off at any time to hide those entries again. Existing API keys and secrets continue to work; the setting only changes navigation visibility.
Copy a server ID
With advanced options enabled, Setup also shows a control to copy the server's Assistance ID. Use that identifier only when an integration or support workflow explicitly asks for it. It is not an API key and cannot authenticate a request.
Choose the right tool
| Need | Use |
|---|---|
| Let an external service call the Assistance API for one server | API key |
| Add a credential to an outbound automation request | Secret |
API keys authenticate inbound requests to Assistance. Secrets authenticate outbound requests made by an Automation. They have different security models and are not interchangeable. OAuth is currently internal-only and is not an external integration option.
